Linux is a great OS for hosting! The cost is low comparing to a windows OS on a hosting. And it is also flexibil OS. But they both are stable.

Thanks for the added server-side perspective. I agree Linux is better from the server management perspective, but from an end-user perspective, these differences will hardly be noticeable.

Linux does have some other advantages over Windows as a server operating system. Firstly it’s smaller in size so takes up less of a footprint on your HDD. Secondly, a Linux server provides better uptime, you need to reboot a windows server after windows updates but it’s not the case with linux (with the exception of kernel updates).
