How to Connect Google My Business for Marketing

Note: Only clients with Website + Marketing and eCommerce should follow these instructions.

This guide will walk you through the simple steps to connect Google My Business and leverage its marketing potential within your SocialBooster platform.

Requirements to Activate Google My Business

All details about your business are provided to Google, and they ensure that consumers can find it. To enable and use Google My Business, you will need the following:

  • A Google Workspace Business or Gmail account
  • A live website
  • A domain linked to your website
  • A business address in the US or Canada

Connect Google My Business for Marketing

After fulfilling all the requirements, you can set up Google My Business from your SocialBooster page.

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Based on your plan, follow the steps below to access your Website Builder dashboard:
    • eCommerce
      Click eCommerce on the left side of the navigation menu.
      • If you have only one eCommerce product, you will be automatically directed to your Website Builder dashboard.
      • If you have multiple eCommerce products, click LAUNCH next to the product you would like to manage.

    • Website or Website + Marketing
      Click Websites on the left side of the navigation menu.
      • If you have only one Website or Website + Marketing product, look for Edit Website on the right, and click LAUNCH WEBSITE BUILDER to enter your edit website page.

      • If you have multiple Website or Website + Marketing products, click LAUNCH WEBSITE BUILDER next to the plan you want to manage.

  1. In the Website Builder dashboard, click Marketing on the left navigation menu, then click on SocialBooster. You will be automatically directed to your dashboard.

    If it is your first time navigating your SocialBooster Dashboard, start by clicking the Let's get started button.

  2. You will either have the following options:
    • If you haven't connected to any social media platform yet, you will be presented with the following interface: Click the Connect Google button.

    • If you have already connected to a social media platform (e.g., Facebook), you will see your dashboard.
      1. Click the account drop-down beside Create Post.

      2. Click the Sign in with Google button.

  3. On the next page, click Get Listed.

  4. Choose Connect Account.

  5. You will be prompted to log in or select an email to be designated as the business manager.

  6. Agree to link your email with the Google business listing service and allow access by clicking Continue.

  7. On the next page, choose Create a New Listing or Link an Existing Location to your email.

  8. Select Add Name to input your business details after linking your Google Account.

  9. Enter your company's name and then select Continue.

  10. Identify and select your company's working category and proceed by clicking Continue.

  11. Choose the type of business location you operate, whether a storefront, a service area, or both, and select the option that accurately represents your business.

  12. Enter the address of your business and/or the locations where your services are provided.

  13. Type your business contact details, including your phone and website. Google will also use your phone number to verify your business listing.

  14. After submitting your business information, you will be directed through Google's business verification process. Verification may be conducted via text code, phone call, email, or postcard mail.
