Domain Transfer: How To Transfer Your Domain To Another Company
This article will walk you through all the steps in transferring your domain AWAY from your Domain.com account to another registrar. Please note that you need to complete all the steps outlined in this article to ensure a smooth transfer process.

Step 1: Complete the domain transfer pre-checklist
If you want to transfer your domain to a different registrar, all of the following requirements must be met to complete the process.
- Your Domain Privacy service must be disabled.
- You have opted out of the domain lock, with the domain being at least 60 days old.
- Your domain contact information (WHOIS) must be updated.
- Your nameservers are updated.
- You have your domain's Auth Code with you.
Step 2: Initiate the domain transfer (Gaining registrant)
After completing the pre-checklist in Step 1, you can begin the transfer process with the new registrar. To do this, you will need to contact the new registrar for specific instructions, which may include:
- Logging in to your new registrar's account.
- Initiating the domain transfer process within their dashboard.
- Providing them with your Auth Code.
- Completing any additional domain transfer validation steps required by the new registrar.
Step 3: Approve the domain transfer
Please keep in mind that the domain transfer process can take a few days to finalize. Be sure to regularly check your email for a verification message, which you will need to authorize the domain transfer request.
Step 4: Check the domain transfer status
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Domains in the left-hand menu.
- On the domain management page, scroll down to the Transfer or Move Domain section.
If you have multiple domains in your account, locate and click the domain from the list to go to its management page.
- A notification will show the status of the domain transfer. Please note that while you have an ongoing domain transfer, you may be unable to request another domain transfer.
